Hillview Zoo: February 2006

The second annual Tyler French Ice Fishing Derby was held on February 11 on Lake Simcoe in Innisfil. There was a great turnout and it was a great fundraiser. It also turned out to be a fun family day with Mike, Nancy, Faithann, Rachel, Steve, Cathy and our gang all turning out for fun and lunch back at the French house. The weather co-operated for a great day. Below is my good friend Maureen who organizes this each year (Thanks Maureen!) being interviewed by the local news A-Channel. The fundraiser also got fantastic coverage in the Innisfil Scope. Hopefully next year will be even better!

Kaeleb was very taken with the fish that were being brought in. He just couldn't get over it! There were some pretty big fish caught! Below is the man of the hour! Tyler!

Kaeleb finally gave in and cuddled in the van. It was actually a beautiful day with sunshine and it really wasn't that cold. The turn out this year was around 80 (compared to 20ish) last year. Below Maureen is counting up the BBQ money. So far the total tally for the day is well over $2500! I'll give a final tally on the blog when I get one.

We ended up back at Elisa and Terry's for lunch and a nice visit with the Wilson's who we normally only get to see at the Picnic each June. Above Cathy is spending some time with Tiffany and below is Faithann & Josh's little angel - Rachel.

The snow came about 4 days too late for Christian & Bianca's Wedding Pictures but we got out there and took some just the same. It was such a sight - really beautiful and that is from someone who is sooooo sick of winter!
